Cookie Notice
Short version: We use a small number of cookies — only what's needed to run the shopping cart. Our analytics are cookieless. We don't track you, profile you or use advertising cookies.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are used to remember preferences or maintain sessions (like keeping items in a shopping cart). This notice also covers localStorage — a similar browser mechanism used to store preferences locally on your device, which is not transmitted to any server.
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we are required to tell you about cookies and obtain your consent for any cookies that are not strictly necessary. This notice explains exactly what we use and the legal basis for each.
2. Cookies and storage we use
Strictly necessary (no consent required)
These cookies are essential for the website or shop to function. They cannot be switched off without breaking core features. Under PECR, strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement.
Preference storage (localStorage — no consent required)
These are stored in your browser's localStorage, not as cookies. They are never transmitted to our servers and are used solely to remember your display preferences on this device.
Analytics (no cookies — no consent required)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. This service is cookieless — it does not place any cookies on your device, does not collect personally identifiable information, and does not track individual users across websites. No consent is required.
Third-party and advertising cookies
We do not use any third-party advertising, social media tracking, retargeting or profiling cookies. No data is passed to advertising networks.
3. Third-party services and their cookies
Snipcart
Our shop is powered by Snipcart. When you use the shopping cart, Snipcart may set cookies on your device to maintain your cart session and process your order. These are strictly necessary for the shop to function. Snipcart's own privacy policy applies to data they process.
Stripe
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you proceed to payment, Stripe may set its own cookies for fraud prevention and payment security. These are strictly necessary for payment processing. Stripe's own privacy policy applies.
4. Managing and withdrawing consent
Since we only use strictly necessary cookies and cookieless analytics, there are no non-essential cookies to consent to or withdraw consent from.
You can manage or delete cookies and localStorage data at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search and services → Clear browsing data
Note that clearing cookies will remove your shopping cart session. Your theme and palette preferences (localStorage) will also be reset.
5. Changes to this notice
If we introduce new cookies or change our use of existing ones, we will update this notice and, where required by law, request consent again. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent update.
