Cookie Notice
Short version: We use a small number of strictly necessary browser storage entries to keep the shopping cart working and remember your display preferences — these are always on and don't need consent. If you accept cookies in the banner, we also use Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel to understand how people find the site and to measure whether our advertising is working. If you decline, none of that is set and only the necessary storage above is used.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are used to remember preferences or maintain sessions. This notice also covers localStorage — a similar browser mechanism used to store data locally on your device, which is not transmitted to any server.
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we are required to tell you about cookies and obtain your consent for any cookies that are not strictly necessary. This notice explains exactly what we use and the legal basis for each.
2. Storage and cookies we use
Strictly necessary browser storage (no consent required)
These are stored in your browser and are essential for the website or shop to function. They cannot be switched off without breaking core features.
ks-cart(localStorage) — Keeps the contents of your shopping cart between pages. Cleared when you complete or cancel checkout. Not transmitted to our servers.theme(localStorage) — Stores your dark/light mode preference. Until you clear site data.palette(localStorage) — Stores your background palette preference. Until you clear site data.cookie-consent(localStorage) — Records your Accept / Necessary-only choice for the analytics/advertising cookies above. Until you clear site data or choose again.preview-access(localStorage) — Set only for site preview access before launch. Cleared on launch.
Payment processing cookies (Stripe)
When you proceed to checkout, Stripe (our payment processor) may set cookies on your device for fraud prevention, security, and payment session management. These are strictly necessary for payment processing and are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. They are only set when you initiate a checkout.
Analytics (no cookies — no consent required)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. This service is cookieless — it does not place any cookies on your device, does not collect personally identifiable information, and does not track individual users across websites. No consent is required.
Third-party and advertising cookies
If you accept cookies in the banner below, we use Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel for analytics and to measure advertising — see below for exactly what they do. If you decline, neither is set and no data is passed to advertising networks.
Google Analytics (GA4)
Only loads if you accept cookies. Helps us understand how many people visit the site and which pages they look at, so we can tell whether the site (and any advertising) are working. Google's own privacy policy applies.
Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel
Only loads if you accept cookies, and only does anything if we are running Meta advertising — measures whether people who see or click an ad go on to visit the site, and avoids re-showing ads to people who've already visited. Meta's own privacy policy applies.
3. Third-party services
Stripe
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you proceed to payment, Stripe may set its own cookies for fraud prevention and payment security. These are strictly necessary for payment processing. Stripe's own privacy policy applies.
Brevo (Sendinblue)
If you sign up to our newsletter, your email and first name are stored with Brevo. Brevo may use cookies on their sign-up confirmation pages. Brevo's own privacy policy applies.
4. Managing and withdrawing consent
You can accept or decline the analytics/advertising cookies above at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings — the banner will show again on your next visit. We don't currently have a separate in-page cookie-preferences control.
You can manage or delete cookies and localStorage data at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search and services → Clear browsing data
Note that clearing localStorage will reset your cart, theme preference, and palette choice.
5. Changes to this notice
If we introduce new cookies or change our use of existing ones, we will update this notice and, where required by law, request consent again. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent update.
6. Contact us
